Revolution C Win Smith Cup

Congratulations to the Revolution C team who won the Smith Cup by 23 points from Phoenix C on Monday 18th April at Elstow TTC. Martin Walters, Trevor Beard and Usman Subhani had comfortably won the semi-final the previous week when their opponents conceded with one match left to play. Last night’s match, with Josh Hallam substituting for Usman, was somewhat closer but the team secured the trophy at long last. read more …

Charity Tournament

On Tuesday 5th April the club is hosting the Bedford Table Tennis League’s first charity handicap tournament in aid of local charities. The entry fee is a minimum £3 and contributions to the raffle are appreciated. Since the club will be fully occupied on the half of the hall with the better lighting the normal practice session will only be available on the other half. Revolution A – Champions

Revolution A took on St Neots A in their final match of the season. Revolution had to win 7-3 in order to retain the Division One title. St Neots fielded three of the league annual tournament semi-finalists including the winner and runner-up. Revolution fielded Steve Silk, John Alsop and their new signing Ismaila Akindiya. The star for Revolution was Ismaila who effortlessly won all his three matches 3-0 and contributed to the final doubles and 7-3 win. read more …

PG Mutual Sponsors National Championships

Revolution TTC congratulates club member Mike Perry, CEO of PG Mutual and member of Revolution C in Division Three, whose company have announced its sponsorship of the PG Mutual National Championships. The National Table Tennis Championships take place at Hertfordshire Sports Village, Hatfield from 18-20th March and are being shown on ITV4. Smith Cup & Plate Success

Congratulations to Revolution C and E teams who progressed through to the semi-finals of the Smith Cup and Plate competitions respectively. The C team comprising Josh Hallam, Usman Subhani and Trevor Beard convincingly defeated first division side Biggleswade with two matches in hand. Playing on his birthday, Josh Hallam had an unexpected present with an outstanding 4-0 win against the experienced Harvey Cross. The E team consisting of Bob Barron, Ram Dinakar and Sam Manning defeated second division Southill A by just eight points. Sam was on top form and took two legs off the former first division player Sam Taheri. Bob Barron playing the last match needed seven points to win the match and it started less than well read more …

Xmas Opening Times

The club will be open on Monday 21st December as usual but will then be closed during the Xmas break restarting on Monday 4th January 2016. A Merry Xmas and a Happy and Healthy 2016 to one and all.

New Table Tennis Kit – Now Arrived

The new table tennis kit has finally arrived. We are short of a couple of items but I will let those people know. This means you can collect it from Tuesday 8th December at the club.
