On Monday 14th November 2016, Barbara Wright was presented by the club chairman with the Club Volunteer of the Year Award, kindly donated by Table Tennis England. Barbara is well known to all members and non-members at the club as most nights she is the “meet and greet” officer and ensures everyone is registered in the visitor book and has paid their fees. She is also captain of the E and F teams which is a great responsibility having to ensure that everyone knows who is playing from week to week and where they are playing. In addition to helping bring on the younger players in her coaching capacity as a UKCC Level 1 coach she is both the club and league Welfare Officer. At the end of the evening she can be seen helping clear away barriers and any rubbish that has been inadvertently left behind. Without Barbara the club would not function as well as it does, a truly well deserved award.
