It’s with a heavy heart that I have to report the sad passing of friend and club member Beate Nicol, aged 54, after a courageous fight these last few months. Beate was a well respected International Table Tennis umpire and Bedford League table tennis player. In the 2019 Annual Closed Tournament women’s singles competition she was runner-up in the final and only last season she was a key member of the Smith Cup runner’s up Revolution F team. In addition, she was the Club Welfare Officer. She passed away peacefully in hospital surrounded by her husband Chris, sons Thomas and Alex and her very good friend Sara Williams. RIP.
