Returning to Play Latest Update

In my last club update, I anticipated that Revolution Table Tennis Club would be returning mid-May in line with the Government Covid-19 guidelines. Unfortunately the venue is playing it extra safe and are now looking to open up not before 21st June, in line with the current Covid-19 timetable.

This is disappointing for us all and, in light of the new Covid variant, this date may itself be changed.

I am confident we will return and will keep you informed as to any changes.

I have also decided that running our traditional summer league will be difficult as many of the players will probably be taking some summer holiday albeit mainly in the UK. So I plan instead to run weekly tournaments based around seeded groups with group winners going into the next round of the main competition and group non-winners going into a plate competition.

Practice tables will be available as normal for the first few weeks as players get back into playing.

I will ask players interested in the competition to book ahead of the evening to allow me time to accurately seed the competition. Further details of how to do this will be advised closer to the time of the club opening.
