It’s been a long time and I hope you are all fine after our extremely long isolation from the sport we all love to play.
I am pleased to say that I received a telephone call this week from Lincroft to say that they will be re-opening the venue to external hirers and we would be at the top of the queue with regards to re-booking our Monday evening slot. They couldn’t yet give me a date for re-opening but I expect the earliest date will be mid-May alongside Sport England’s timetable for returning to play.
The current plan will be to start junior coaching between 6.00pm-7.00pm and open practice for everyone from 7.15pm-8.45pm for May through to June. In July and August we plan to run our summer league which should take us through to the start of the winter season in September. Obviously, this is all subject to the Covid situation at the time.
I am really pleased that at least we know we will have a venue as we return to some form of normality. Unfortunately, we will have to follow the guidelines for returning to play which will mean less flexibility in how we operate so pre-booking will be required, less tables initially as we conform to minimum space requirements and consequently the costs will be higher than normal. This is the reality for all indoor sports at the moment. But despite this, I am sure everyone will be pleased to get back to playing.
As soon as I hear about the re-opening dates I will be in touch to advise on the new operating procedures and prices.
